Focus on Focus Homes

Southern Cross is delighted to announce the acquisition of the Focus Group of Care homes.

With this acquisition we have brought twenty nine homes with 1,313 beds into the group. The addition of the Focus Group brings the number of homes within the Southern Cross Group to 640 with a total of 32,420 beds.

The Focus Homes are spread throughout the country with particular concentration in areas such as Aberdeen, the Sheffield area and Tyne and Wear.

These homes principally provide residential and nursing support for the elderly.

The majority of the homes join the group as Southern Cross homes. The exceptions are Maryfield East and Maryfield West in Aberdeen, both of which become Ashbourne Senior Living homes.

Walkley Lodge in Sheffield specialises in care and support for adults with learning difficulties and joins as part of Active Care Partnerships.

The principles of care demonstrated by these homes are very similar to that of Southern Cross so the integration of the homes into the group has been relatively straightforward.
