The Care Choices Care Training Excellence Awards 2006

On 8th December 2006 two Southern Cross employees, Doreen Fox and Sharon Dickinson attended ‘The Care Choices Care Training Excellence Awards 2006’ in London. Both members of staff at Orchard Mews Care Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne; Doreen was nominated for Dementia Carer of the Year, and Sharon for Ancillary support worker of the Year.

We are delighted to announce that both Doreen and Sharon were winners. They were presented with their awards by none other than our own national treasure, Dame Vera Lynn. Both also received £500 worth of prize money, and an additional £500 worth of advertising in Care Management Matters Magazine for their care centre, Orchard Mews.

On their return to Orchard Mews each of our winners was presented with a beautiful bouquet by Joe Makepeace, Operations Director for the North East Division. Southern Cross would like to congratulate both Doreen and Sharon on their outstanding achievement and continued commitment to caring. Well done!
