Southern Cross is continually expanding our service through our New Build programme. We have a variety of new care centres opening in 2008 throughout the UK. Let’s take a look at the exciting new developments we currently have underway, and those that have opened since our last update.

Crossgate Care Centre, Kilmarnock

Crossgate Care Centre in Kilmarnock opened its doors to the public at the end of 2007. The centre provides caring services for people with mental impairment and those who experience physical frailty. There is also a specialist service within the centre that provides care for people with mental health requirements. Crossgate is a sixty-four bed facility located in a central area of Kilmarnock with convenient links to Troon, Ayr and Glasgow.

Carnbroe Care Centre, Coatbridge

Carnbroe Care Centre is a new development in Coatbridge, conveniently located between Glasgow and Edinburgh with links to the M8 and M74 motorways. The purpose built facility has seventy-two private en-suite bedrooms, five dinning areas and five lounges. There is also an in-house hairdressing salon, private laundry service and a pleasant garden and patio. Manager, Des O’Brien and his team are looking forward to welcoming the first service users in the coming months.

Birch Tree Manor, The Wirral

Birch Tree Manor Care Centre in The Wirral is another new addition to the group. This Ashbourne Senior Living care centre is situated in the pleasant village of Port Sunlight surrounded by a variety of historic sites and tourist attractions, including the Lady Lever Art Gallery. The 62 bed centre is designed to provide nursing and residential care for older adults and has been instated with modern, best practice equipment throughout. Each of the bedrooms has a private en-suite bathroom and there are a variety of lounges available for socialising and relaxing. We are confident this will provide an extremely pleasant and comfortable environment for our service users.

Torwood Care Centre, Somerset

Ashbourne Senior Living gains another new care centre this year, with the opening of Torwood Care Centre in Mendip, Somerset. Torwood will provide caring services for 78 individuals within the main body of the facility, and also offer 25 separate apartments. The development team are very excited about this new project and look forward to it opening later this year.

Tor-Na-Dee Care Centre, Aberdeen

Tor-Na-Dee Care Centre is due to open in the near future. This Ashbourne Senior Living Care Centre has been designed to provide services for 76 service users. The new purpose built facility is easily accessible from the A93 Motorway which provides convenient links to Aberdeen city centre. Care Centre Manager, Maureen Barrett and her team are excited about launching this new service and look forward to the opening.
