The outstanding contribution of our colleagues to the care sector has been recognised around the country. Awards were presented to our people at Gala Dinners held in Wales and Glasgow on Friday the 17th November and London on Saturday the 25th November.
Four of the team in Wales reached the finals of the Care Forum Wales Awards. Congratulations to Susie Divino, Burges House, who was named Independent Sector Nurse of the Year, Kayleigh Hayman, The Rookery, who won Young Care Practitioner of the Year and Gaynor Williams, Swn-y-Mor, who won Activities Organiser of the year. Our congratulations also go to Simon George from Abergarw who was runner up of Chef of the Year.
Ten members of staff also reached the finals of
the Scottish Care Awards in what was a very closely fought competition. Special recognition goes to Elspeth Clydesdale, Woodside, Karen Lapsley, Moorpark, Ellen Hill, Three Towns, Claire McKintosh, Castle Gardens, Mary Owen and Senga Duncan, Greenfield Park and Sheila Inshaw, Craigielea for reaching the finals.
Our congratulations go to Helen Kinnaid from Kinnaird Manor in Falkirk who won Dementia Care Manager of the Year, Pauline McKeever, Managing Director, Scotland and Northern Ireland who won Care Personality of the Year and John Murphy, Group Operations Director, who won Care Entrepreneur of the Year.
Three of the team were also successful in getting through to the finals of the Care Awards in London. John Murphy, Group Operations Director, was a finalist in the Care Entrepreneur of the Year and Nina Sheekey, Stoneleigh was a finalist in the Care Registered Nurse Category. Congratulations go to Philip Scott, Chief Executive, who won Care Personality of the Year.
